5 types of coffee mugs you should have

People who love coffee are also obsessed with coffee mugs. We are confident that you must have a massive collection of coffee at your home. Most of these would be glass or ceramic cups. However, do you know that every type of coffee deserves a specific coffee mug? Yes, it is true!

For instance, you can use a ceramic mug for a cappuccino. Although, for a mocha, a glass mug is preferable. (Though, using ceramic is not bad either). After the intended use of coffee, the cups classification can happen on the convenience and use. For instance, there are traveling cups that can keep the coffee warm or cold.

Amazing? Isn’t it? Coffee cups are no different than mugs; they have a world of their own. Here are a few types of coffee cups that you should buy.

1.      Traveling mugs

Everyone needs a traveling mug that can keep their coffee warm or cold. It can be tricky to buy the best travel mug due to the numerous options available in the market. However, look for their heat retention properties and check their reviews.

If they can keep your Nespresso pods coffee warm till you reach the office, they are great. Buy coffee pods online if you are looking for a quick & easy brewing method.

P.S. make sure that they are dishwasher safe as well.

2.      Ceramic cups aka the classic mugs

When you hear the word classic mug- you automatically think about a ceramic mug. Everyone has these because they are durable, comfortable, microwave-friendly, and affordable as well. These ceramic cups are often have designed, or you can get them plain or even customize them as per your need.

They do get stains on them quickly, and most ceramic mugs are quite heavy to carry.

3.      Glass coffee mugs

If you are someone who loves to show off their latte or mocha or flat white or even espresso, a glass mug is perfect for you. A glass mug shows the beautifully crafted layers of your coffee, and as we eat with our eyes first, it is a magical experience.

They do not stain easily and are not that heavy to use. However, glass is not durable as it is not a great conductor of heat. So, if the temperature gets too much for them, they can get cracked easily.

Another thing is that they don’t insulate your coffee well, so if you love hot coffee, you should go for double-walled glass cups.

4.      Melamine coffee mugs

Melamine is a man-made material. It is durable, affordable, and dishwasher safe. However, melamine should never be paired with a hot beverage as it may contain some toxins which are not safe for you to consume.

5.      Demitasse

Demitasse is an espresso cup. They are short and can hold only up to 3.4oz of coffee, which is optimal for an espresso drinker as it's too strong. Make sure that when you buy a demitasse cup, it is double-walled for better insulation.

Off to buy some more coffee mugs to add to the collection. What about you?
