Drinking water from copper utensils

Water is the essential element to sustain life on this planet. 70%of the human body is made up of water. Then copper is one of the essential minerals that are vital to human health. In ancient times, our ancestors and even our grandmothers used to store water in containers that were made of copper. Basically, their aim was to safeguard drinking water, but actually, there is more to the story.

Well, this is an old practice referenced in the ancient texts of Ayurveda. So, storing water in a copper container is a natural water purification process. It kills all the microorganisms, molds, fungi, algae, and bacteria present in the water, which are harmful to the body and hence make the water perfectly fit for drinking. Additionally, water stored in a copper vessel, preferably overnight or at least for four hours, acquires a certain quality from the copper that’s no doubt is very good for human health.

Eating with hands

First of all, eating with hands itself is an excellent muscle exercise and has more health benefits than eating with spoons. You didn’t know that?? Don’t worry.

So according to Ayurveda, the nerve endings of our fingertips are believed to boost our digestion. And also you become more aware of the textures, tastes, and aromas as you eat using your hands and engaging the fingertips. It helps also increase blood circulation, believed to help lose weight, help prevent Type-2 diabetes.

Fasting

There are different scientific reasons and a valid logic behind celebrating every festival in India and following a fasting ritual to please the almighty. Fasting helps cleanse and detoxify the body, thereby restoring its vital organs. Some health benefits of fasting are purification of the gastrointestinal tract, cleansing the organs, and aiding in metabolism. During fasting, the digestive system goes into resting mode. The resting of the intestines and related organs enables them to function better later. Also, when you are fasting, bloating will disappear. The process can help you lose those extra kilos as an added benefit.

Griha Pravesh

Griha Pravesh or one can call it House warming, is a puja performed before entering a new house for the first time. It’s a ritual of worshiping a God or deity for getting into the path of peace and happiness. It is considered important in India for the entire family members to perform Griha Pravesh puja, as it welcomes divine blessings to a new home. It’s done believing that it will bring happiness and welfare to the place and the whole family.
