6 small changes to make in home or kitchen for better environment

Every day we hear about the impact of our doings on the environment. And we wonder, what changes can we do to make a positive impact and make our earth cleaner? Is the answer solar panels or boycotting plastics completely? For some, yes!

However, not everyone can afford solar panels or stop using plastic completely. But there are small changes that we can make in our day-to-day life that will ensure a better future for the coming generations.

These changes will make your kitchen and living habits a bit better. IT will only have a positive impact on your life.

6 small changes to make for a better tomorrow

1.  Use cold water for washing clothes

Using hot water for washing clothes, even in the machine takes up a lot of energy. The emission of carbon dioxide is also massive. Thus, the best way to reduce this is to use cold water to wash the clothes.

It reduces the emission of CO2 and ensures that the quality of the clothes remains top-notch as well.

2.  Switch to biodegradable pods

Coffee pods are the new sensation, and why not? They are delicious, convenient to make, and can make an exact cup of coffee. However, pod-using coffee lovers were always worried about their carbon footprints as pods used plastic as the pod materials. It is challenging to recycle them.

Although, now the equation is changing as manufacturers are making pods using aluminum or recyclable plastic. Also, they are making biodegradable coffee pods that break down with ease.

3.  Use a lid for boiling water

Boiling water on the stovetop is a frequent thing that we do in the kitchen. Either we want to drink warm water or make tea or so on. The tip here is to put a lid on top of the pan you use to boil water.

It will ensure that the water boils quickly and you do not waste gas and energy.

4.  Say no to a plastic bag when shopping

When you are shopping for groceries, we always carry a plastic bag with us. But is it necessary to do so? No! You can carry a cloth or jute bag to put all the groceries. They are durable and don’t harm the environment at all.

Also, when shopping for vegetables, you can keep them in your cart and throw them in a bag (cloth) when you come to your car. You will be washing it anyways!

5.  Switch light bulbs for LEDs

The regular lights or bulbs that we have at home are not eco-friendly. Also, burn out fast and consume tons of energy. Thus, switching them with LED bulbs is the best way. It not only saves money but the environment as well.

Additionally, the look they provide to your home is always stunning.

6. Plant herbs

Growing your garden comes with tons of benefits. For instance, you always have fresh herbs and vegetables to make delicious dishes. Also, the compost (garbage from making meals) is best to grow instead of throwing it.

Try these changes today and motivate others to do the same.
