How to brew a perfect coffee? Guide for beginners!

Are you a coffee snob? Have you never tasted coffee but after hearing so much about this beverage, you want to give it a try? If yes? Then you are at the right place. In this blog, we will share the best way a beginner can get the best cup of joe. If you are trying to brew coffee at home, go with Nespresso pods. A single-serve machine using Nespresso pods is the best way for a beginner.

Here are a few things to remember when starting your coffee journey.

Choosing the correct brewing method

For the first-time brewer, finding a brewing method that works for them can be challenging. It depends on your taste mostly. However, affording and finding the right equipment is always a detrimental factor.

Here are a few methods the first-time homebrewer can try:

Single-serve machine

The single-serve machine uses coffee pods to brew a perfect and exact cup of coffee. To brew coffee using this, you need a pod and a compatible machine. Then, all you have to do is put the pod, add water in the reservoir, select the type of blend, and press on the switch. In seconds, your coffee is ready.

French Press

Another delightful way of brewing coffee is by using a French Press. It makes a delicious cup of joe, and brewing espresso in it is also possible. All you need is water, right beans, and in four minutes, your coffee is ready.

Pour-Over

In this method, you need a great filter and ground coffee. Now, you place the filter over the water and run hot water through it for a decadent and fresh cup of coffee.

Note: If you are using coffee beans, do not buy ground ones. Grind them at home for fresh coffee.

Choosing the right beans

For people using beans to make coffee, finding the right beans is essential for a perfect cup of coffee. Here are the tips:

  • Get whole beans. Ground beans tend to lose their aroma quickly. When you buy whole beans, you can grind them per convenience, keeping the aroma strong & fresh.

  • Store them properly. Otherwise, oxygen and moisture can ruin the coffee flavor.

  • Buy from a local roaster who provides you organic coffee beans. They are more nutritional and flavorsome.

  • When buying whole beans, make sure you check the roasting date. Do not get one with a roasting date from a long time back.

Choosing other equipment

If you know what brewing method you want to try, and you get the machine. But that is not enough. Requirement of other equipment will be there.

  • Grinder: Get a manual bur grinder. It will grind your whole beans to a consistency you like. Remember French-Press, pour-over, and espresso machine all use different bean consistency.

  • Frother: Some espresso and Nespresso single-serve machine comes with a frother. But not all! So, get a traditional or electric frother. It will help you with lattes and milk coffees.

  • Measuring scale: For measuring beans and water.

Enjoy this new world of coffee with these tips.
