Relocating to Sharjah? These tips will help you

Sharjah, a city in the UAE presents an environment that is both family-oriented and traditional. It is the reason that many people living in Dubai are considering to move to this marvelous city. Dubai is a gem and living here is exciting and overwhelming, but the shift to other cities is increasing.

If you are one of the people who are planning to move to Sharjah, you must have some fears as shifting homes is not easy. But the tips that we will discuss below will help you be more prepared to make the change.

Let’s look at these tips..

1.      Lifestyle

The lifestyle of Sharjah is quite different from Dubai. Here people are more conservative, so you need to be more modest with your clothing. Wearing shorts or tank tops were okay in Dubai, but here you have to be a bit more careful with what you wear. If after moving there, you feel people are comfortable with shorts and tank tops, go for it.

Also, since 1985, there is an alcohol ban in Sharjah. Bars and nightclubs are limited here, but to enjoy a few drinks and dance the whole night, you can go to Dubai, which is not that far.

2.      Transportation

It is easy to move around Sharjah using a taxi or a bus. There are no metros here, so it can pose a problem for people who rely on public transport. They will have to rely on taxis or Mowaslat- which is a new transportation system for people living here.

Another cheaper option to commute after moving here is to go for car rental in Sharjah. You can take a monthly or yearly subscription and enjoy driving the car of your choice.

Also, if you live in Dubai, and work here, you will moderate traffic. But for people living in Sharjah and who work in Dubai, you will face a lot of traffic. It is easy to shuffle between two cities if you owe a car or subscribe to a car rental.

3.      Savings and expense

Finding a house in Sharjah is easy and cost-effective. Even if your employer doesn’t provide you with accommodation, you can save a lot of money on housing when you make the shift to Sharjah.
If you rent a 1-BHK house in Sharjah, you can get it as low as AED 20,000 per year, and the high is AED 50,000.

Also, shifting home here means you can save even further because eating out here is cheaper than Dubai and other cities.

4.      Retail

The retail options in Sharjah are numerous. All the retail outlets and shopping malls here have most of the big brands that Dubai has. In the local market here, you can buy anything from fruits to carpets to ornaments and so on.

To conclude, if you have been living in Dubai for a while, making these small changes to mover to Sharjah is not going to be a problem. Sharjah may not have the luxuries that Dubai has, but you won’t regret living here.
